The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus announced the results of the qualifying round of the national youth competition "100 Ideas for Belarus." The 20 most promising scientific and innovative projects, submitted by students, graduate students, and young scientists, reached the finals.

The national youth project "100 Ideas for Belarus" is being held for the 15th time. The project is organized by the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. Forty-eight applications were submitted for the qualifying round, which took place on January 20, 2026, covering key priority areas: from information and communication technology and healthcare to energy efficiency and agriculture.

We are proud to announce that the project "Digital Control Model for a Universal (Modular) Robot for Special-Purpose Tasks" is among the finalists. It was developed by Evgeny Lopatko, a researcher at the Robotic Systems Laboratory of the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

This project is an innovative control system for robotic platforms designed to perform complex tasks in various sectors of the country's economy. This will help optimize a range of processes, including increasing labor productivity and ensuring worker safety in areas where working conditions pose health risks. Implementing this solution will help improve efficiency and safety in a wide range of tasks: from performing monotonous and labor-intensive work in logistics centers to assisting with patient care at medical facilities or replacing cashiers in stores. This isn't a scene from a futuristic film, but a very real future.

Congratulations to Evgeny Dmitrievich and best wishes for victory in the finals! The results of the competition will be announced very soon – in the first quarter of 2026.
